Mrs. Kristin Stocker
My name is Kristin Stocker, and I am the Reading Interventionist at St. John’s. I grew up in Brookfield, Wi., a suburb of Milwaukee. I attended Marquette University where I earned my B.A. degree in Sociology and a minor in Spanish. After working in special education for a few years, I obtained an elementary education teaching license through Mankato State University.
I have been involved in Catholic education in some capacity for the past 27 years. I truly value being able to help students grow academically, socially, and spiritually within the context of the Catholic faith. I have taught a wide range of grade levels and subject areas throughout the years. Most recently, reading intervention, set within the framework of the Science of Reading, has become my passion. In addition to completing the required training to become a Groves Read and Believe qualified Intervention Teacher, I also completed LETRS training and Orton-Gillingham training. It is so exciting to be able to help students unlock the code of the written language, and I love working in collaboration with our talented classroom teachers to help kids reach their fullest potential.
My husband and I live in Jordan and have two daughters, both of whom attended St. John’s. In my free time, I enjoy reading, baking, traveling, hiking, and spending time with family. I am looking forward to getting to know all of you and enjoying a wonderful year with your children!
