I am excited to be joining the community here at St. John the Baptist! I am looking forward to getting to know you all. This is my second year teaching, previously I worked in a Spanish immersion classroom teaching math and science. I love the Spanish language as well as the culture. I studied abroad in Costa Rica and joined two mission trips to Cuba.
I graduated from the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire with a degree in Elementary and Spanish Education. While in college I worked with an outdoor program, as a trip leader, rock wall instructor, and a ropes course facilitator. In all of these roles I watched people grow and sometimes even exceeded their expectations they had of themselves. Growth is also something I enjoy seeing in the classroom. In fact, my favorite part about teaching is the “a-hah” moments and making connections with my students.
I love spending time with my family, especially at the cabin on the lake. I love the water, paddle boarding, skiing, swimming, there is so much to do. As a family, we also take a road trip most summers and visit national or state parks. Spending our time camping, hiking, rock climbing, and enjoying the beauty of the outdoors. This is a little about me, I look forward to getting to know you this coming year.
