A NEW Middle School Experience

A NEW Middle School Experience!

The life of a Middle School student at Saint John’s is filled with wonder and exploration of new and challenging coursework rooted in the Traditions of the Catholic Faith. Each student builds upon their elementary foundation to continue their education in a deeper and more challenging way.

A day in the life of a Middle Schooler at Saint John’s:

  1. Advisory is a time for students to meet with their advisor, get coursework organized, and sharpen specific classroom skils.

  2. Math is taught during 1st period in all middle school grades to allow for advanced students to move up a grade level when they are ready in their own time.

  3. Mass and Religion: All students at Saint John’s attend Mass twice a week on Wednesday and Fridays. Middle Schoolers participate by way of our Angelic Service & Knight’s of the Altar service programs

  4. Language Arts: A large emphasis is placed on teaching our students to read & write at a high level.

  5. Lunch: Students have a 25 minute lunch to eat, relax, and talk with friends.

  6. Flex Time: Students have 25 minutes of flex time where they can choose between library, outdoor time, or working with a teacher on specific coursework.

  7. Science: Our brand new science classroom with complete lab allows students to experience hands-on lessons with state-of-the-art, top-level curriculum.

  8. Social Studies & Spanish: Students will learn about history and western tradition and depending on the grade, receive two to three days of Spanish each week.

  9. Physical Education: We offer physical education and a Catholic approved health curriculum where students learn in a safe and caring environment.

  10. Electives for Middle School students include: Band, Choir, Art, Personal Finance, STEM Class, and Ethics.
